"Let Startups Focus Solely on Growth": Antler Korea Invests in 14 Company-Built Startups

Antler Korea, the South Korean arm of global venture capital firm Antler, announced on June 15 that it has made initial investments in 14 startups formed through the 7th cohort of its signature company-building initiative, the "Startup Generator" program.

The latest investment batch covers a broad range of sectors, including AI-powered SaaS (Software-as-a-Service), bio/health-tech, edtech, and content platforms. Each selected team secured pre-seed funding ranging between 200 million and 400 million KRW (approximately $145,000 to $290,000 USD).

The 14 startups securing backing in this round are: Criscope △ Supalead △ Alive Studios △ Polarpulse △ Labuchat △ Heimdex △ Chewtry △ Medicall △ Tellus △ Construction Partner △ TraceWeave △ Connectin △ Ark Intelligence △ Koko

The competitiveness of the program remains exceptionally high. Out of more than 1,500 applicants for the 7th cohort, only 55 individuals were selected to participate. The accepted founders bring strong professional backgrounds, averaging approximately eight years of industry experience. Notably, those with 7 to 10 years of industry experience made up the largest share of the cohort at 37.7%.

Through the Startup Generator program, Antler Korea recruits founders on an individual basis rather than as pre-formed teams. The program then guides them through a rigorous six-week process of team formation and ideation validation. Teams that successfully pass the firm’s investment committee receive a minimum pre-seed investment of 150 million KRW.

To reduce the fundraising burden on early-stage teams, Antler Korea also offers a pre-committed follow-on investment ranging from 200 million to 500 million KRW, provided the startup secures external follow-on funding within a specified timeframe. This structure is designed to ease the financial pressure that early-stage founders typically face, allowing them to focus entirely on product development and growth.

Looking ahead, Antler Korea is already gearing up for its next wave of founders.

"Our 8th cohort program officially kicks off on June 16," an Antler Korea representative stated. "Over half of the incoming participants consist of foreign nationals and Korean founders with extensive international experience. We are intentionally shifting our focus toward building and backing teams designed for the global market from day one."
