Heimdex Launches HeimLog, an AI Auto-Editing Service for Vloggers, in Beta

Heimdex, a South Korean video intelligence AI company, launched the beta version of HeimLog, an automated vlog-editing service, on September 9. It marks the company's first consumer-facing product, extending video intelligence technology it has supplied to broadcasters and entertainment companies into the general consumer market.

HeimLog automates vlogging's biggest time sink: scrubbing through dozens of raw clips to find usable footage. Users upload raw, unedited video, and the AI analyzes each scene, selects the relevant segments, and assembles a sequenced rough cut as a long-form draft.

Users can choose between two editing modes: "chronological," which follows the order footage was shot, and "thematic," which groups scenes around a specific topic. Six themes are available — shopping, lodging, sightseeing, scenery, transit, and food — and multiple themes can be combined. For example, a traveler could pull only the food and lodging scenes from a trip's footage into a single video with one click.

Subtitles are generated as part of the same draft. The "AI Subtitles" feature transcribes the audio and times captions to match speech, and users only need to correct any errors in a script panel on the editing screen.

Privacy protection is also handled automatically. The "AI Blur" feature detects and blurs bystanders caught on camera in footage shot in places like cafes, streets, and tourist sites. It's the same compliance-grade blurring technology Heimdex has supplied to broadcasters and live commerce operators (live-streamed shopping broadcasts, a major e-commerce format in Korea) — giving individual creators access to broadcast-level processing without any manual work. HeimLog also includes an "Auto BGM Matching" feature that pairs background music to a video's mood, and supports both horizontal (16:9) and vertical (9:16) formats, making it usable for YouTube long-form videos as well as vertical content like Reels and Shorts.
